DATA IS THE NEW IP: HOW DATA PLAYS IN THE NEW MUSIC BUSINESS ECONOMY

The panel will discuss social media and fan base data as the new intellectual property and music
business commodity. We will address data issues including collection, ownership, privacy, monetization,
and uses for marketing, promotion, consumer targeting, fan base building and mobilization and the need
for contractual provisions to address these Issues in recording, publishing, band, and other agreements.
